Here’s a new take on the Australian series I did before – I want to show fullness and “teeming” like I said in the Great Barrier Reef post.  The two follow up images are “Southern Sky” (look for the Southern Cross hidden) and “Red Center.”

So, I’m rethinking my Australia series completely.  I want these to be a different look from my usual work – more busy and full of life and detail.  This is the first one…the Great Barrier Reef.  The look I’m going for is “teeming.”

Check out this new bedding from the Land of Nod that I designed.  It’s based on the Otomi Indians‘ lovely traditional animal embroidery, but it’s got the simplicity that I like.

Planning a series of terrarium artprints…should be fun to work on with all these textures.  Also, just some prints of cacti would be cool, right?

I’ll be having a solo show at La Colombe Torrefaction Coffee Shop in June here in Philly.  I’m prepping for all new work to be shown and this time I’ve decided to offer large scale canvases for $250.  Once I see the print quality and give my seal of approval (hands clapping, “arf, arf”), If anyone wants one, please write me and I’ll order one for you too!

Here’s a preview of a possible upcoming project.  Owls are still popular – the funny thing is, if only owls knew how cool they are, they could cash in!

I recently submitted this set of designs for a Black Family product.  I hope it gets picked!  As I designed for a culture outside my own, I realized that It’s hard to strike the balance between American Black culture and too much African patterning.  These two lean a bit towards the pattern aspect, but as a whole, the collection aims to be more crowd-pleasing!  I just really like how the wooden texture reads as dark skin.

As of this month, my illustrations of bioluminescent creatures are on show advertising the American Museum of Natural History Creatures of Light exhibit.  So excited to visit!  I worked closely with the team there to create illustrations of several animals and one fungus – take a look at the AMNH site.
